Dr. John Vanderloo, pictured here with Senator Walter Michel, served as Doctor of the Day at the MS State Capitol February 3, 2022, providing medical services to legislators and capitol staff. The MS State Medical Association (MSMA) organizes this wonderful opportunity daily throughout the legislative session. The Capitol Medical Unit is staffed by a full-time nurse and a Mississippi State Medical Association volunteer physician who provide basic medical services to legislators and capitol staff.
As Doctor of the Day, Dr. Vanderloo is able to see firsthand the everyday operations of the Mississippi Legislature. In addition, he was recognized on both the Senate and House floors at the opening of the session. Dr. Vanderloo is proud to serve in MSMA, an organization whose task champions representing physicians, protecting patients, and driving policy.
